Project Description

Sculpture on the Edge is one of two major annual programs presented by Arts Connect Inc.

Arts Connect Inc. is a membership driven not-for-profit organisation based on the Sunshine Coast, which encourages excellence within local arts practices through shared activities, workshops, collaboration and mentoring.

The other major annual event is Open Studios Sunshine Coast.

Sculpture on the Edge is an outdoor sculpture exhibition held annually on the escarpment of the stunning Sunshine Coast hinterland at Spicers Tamarind Retreat. It attracts renowned artists from all around Australia who create unique sculptural artworks which sit within the environment, complementing the stunning natural landscape as part of the Spicers Tamarind Retreat.

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the picturesque 18-acre property which provides a unique setting for site specific works and installations.

The accompanying Award offers sculptors $10,500 in prize money and is expected to see over 5,000 visitors throughout the exhibition.

Now in its 11th year, Sculpture on the Edge continues to grow. Thanks to generous support from donors, sponsors and event partner Spicers Tamarind Retreat, Arts Connect Inc delivers an outstanding cultural experience to arts lovers and visitors to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The 2021 exhibition is open to the public from October 22 until November 7, 2021.

Donations to support Sculpture on the Edge can be made through Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation.
