Paul Nevison will be in the post-production of his short film In Absence.

Sponsored by Patrons Annie & Don Boyd, Paul Nevison is an award winning film director based on the Sunshine Coast. He is a three time winner of the Cannes Young Director Award and his films have also been recognised at Ciclope, Kinsale Sharks, 1.4 Awards and GZDOC.

He has recently wrapped up filming on his latest short film entitled “In Absence” (formerly “The Family”, which explores a father and son relationship in the aftermath of the death of the family matriarch. It asks the question is family stronger than tragedy?

The film stars Christopher James Baker best known for his roles on the hit Netflix show Ozark as well as HBO’s True Detective, New Gold Mountain for SBS and the upcoming Netflix shows Boy Swallows Universe and Prosper.

The shoot employed a range of Sunshine Coast based screen practitioners and shows what is possible in the screen industry on the coast. Paul is investing the funds from the Gifted Program into the post production phase of the film.
