Jack MacRae will create a mural or a series of murals for the Sunshine Coast region.
Supported by Patron Ferre De Deyne, Jack MacRae, an emerging Sunshine Coast artist, has proposed to create a series of murals for public enjoyment in the Sunshine Coast region. He wants to connect residents, business owners and tourists by beautifying and enhancing spaces creating an emotional impact while engaging with the community.
His work reveals a clear focus on investigating colour, form, technique and materials. He deftly creates hand-cut collages using coloured paper as well as abstract, hardedge colourfield paintings.
The forms and shapes intersect with bold planes of colour in his large landscape paintings that offer a flattened perspective of the world, through the depths of layering colours in big bold circles. Jack distills colours, sensations and moods from his expeditions to produce dream-like works that beckon with their hard lines and soft curves.
