The Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation’s audience and market research project, in collaboration with Sunshine Coast Council, aims to increase participation in the arts and develop audiences for specific art forms.
The coronavirus lockdown devastated the arts and cultural sector, shutting down exhibitions and performances. Venues closed, festivals and shows were cancelled, jobs were lost for artists, tech crews, venue managers and more. The challenge for the arts to recover and flourish is enormous.
This research will provide invaluable data and strategies for arts organisations on the Sunshine Coast to build a strong and vibrant future for artists, for audiences and for our community.
Patternmakers, who were commissioned to conduct the research have vast experience in audience development, particularly in regional Australia.
The final research report will be made available to venues, festivals and artists across the region to support programming and marketing.
