PHILANTHROPY AND THE ARTS LECTURE

Kenneth Watkins AM, Philanthropy Director, Australian Ballet and one of Australia’s leading arts fundraisers, presented the Inaugural Philanthropy and the Arts Lecture on Friday 16 September 2022 at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Presented by Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation and University of the Sunshine Coast, the Lecture was followed by a Reception and Private Viewing of the exhibition Peter Hudson: The mystery of being here at University of the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery

SCAF Chair, Professor Jennifer Radbourne said the Lecture was a very special event for the region.

“It truly was a unique opportunity to meet and share wisdom from a national arts development leader, to learn about and celebrate the role philanthropy plays in the lives, well-being and identity of the Sunshine Coast’s art, artists and communities,” she said.

As a member of the Australian Ballet’s Executive team for more than 28 years, Kenneth Watkins has made a strong contribution to the vision, values and strategic objectives of the organisation.

He is passionate about developing the next generation of fundraisers by actively mentoring staff from several organisations across Australia and assisting them to build their strategies and networks.
