The Pastel Society of Australia Inc will present the second Australian Pastel Expo at the Caloundra Events Centre in August-September 2022. The five-day event is expected to attract around 180 students and 21 artist tutors, including six international tutors – several via Zoom. The inaugural Expo, held in Caloundra in 2018, was the first purely pastel event to showcase Australian pastel art and artists from across Australia and New Zealand. Including workshops, demonstrations, trade show, exhibitions and more, it is the only national event of its kind in Australia. The April 2020 Expo was cancelled due to COVID 19.

The aim is to mentor artists, to introduce the medium of pastel and improve skills through workshops and demonstrations, to promote pastel as a medium in the local community through exhibitions and to give an opportunity for artists to tutor and exhibit to a large national audience. The trade show supports art suppliers and local art traders.
