Project Description

The Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation’s Annual Giving program, GIFTED! will invest in creative development in partnership with arts organisations and donors through annual giving.

SCAF invites donations to the GIFTED! campaign to invest in talented local artists and ensure their success and the artistic prosperity of the Sunshine Coast.

The Gifted Campaign was established with a very generous gift by the De Deyne Family. Ferre De Deyne a SCAF Board Director, Sunshine Coast businessman, collector of art and philanthropist launched the campaign on Friday 6 November 2020 at Venue 114, Bokarina.

The Sunshine Coast Audience and Market Research 2020 found that most people believe arts and culture make the Sunshine Coast a better place, want variety in the arts and cultural offerings, and want to raise the level of ambition for local talent.

Chair of the Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation Professor Jennifer Radbourne said that here on the Sunshine Coast not only are we ‘gifted’ by the fabulous environment and a caring and enlightened community, but most importantly we live with gifted artists and creatives, who are talented, innovative, entrepreneurial, engaging, giving us an experience of surprise, happiness and celebration.

The GIFTED! program will be in partnership with organisations that work directly with artists. The partner organisation will be selected by the Board each year or more frequently in relation to the level of Annual Giving revenue. The program will support artists across the variety of disciplines, in keeping with SCAF’s purpose.

The selected partner organisation will curate or select the artist/s and project/s to be supported and submit a proposal to the Board in line with SCAF’s eligibility and guidelines. The program is a partnership model, because SCAF is not a grant-making body.

Each year when donors generously give to the GIFTED! Campaign, those funds will go directly to support creative development on the Sunshine Coast.
