ALISON MOONEY’S SKETCH WALL
With the support of Patron Gail Hunter, Alison Mooney (Coolum) will develop The Sketch Wall, a publicly situated wall which she will repaint seasonally.
Alison explores colour, movement and curiosity from her studio on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Layered illustrative elements never quite add up to a fully resolved whole. Each piece is ultimately designed to inspire fresh energy and movement to a space.
The Sketch Wall painting will be an extension of early ideas in the studio, brought to life large-scale and in the public.
Much like a ‘legal wall’ where artists can paint over and over without it being considered graffiti, The Sketch Wall is a gentle introduction to that long-established practice alive and well in other parts of Australia.
Alison plans to invite a different artist each time to collaborate with on the most recent design.
